According to MacRumors, Apple’s released its new next-generation iOS 14 operating system awaited in September 2020. After updating the software, everyone will love this new astonishing change in all apple phones, whether you are using it. The expected apple iOS 14 update release date is 14 to 18 Sep 2020. New free apple iOS 14 betas, iPadOS 14, macOS Big Sur, tvOS 14, and watchOS 7 are also coming. Apple iOS 14 features that are organizing all apps. It’s one of the momentous apple iOS 14 updates, including Home screen design changes, significant features, updates for existing apps, Siri improvements, and other squeezes that streamline the iOS interface.
1. Home Screen Redesign:
For the first time, iOS 14 leads a redesigned Home screen that supports widgets.
- Widgets:
iPhone has an entirely new look; widgets appear in small, medium, or large sizes or affixed in different sizes. Widgets can be trawled easily from right on to the standard Home screen. App pages in an iPhone will open a new App library; that interface shows all of the apps on the phone. All apps categorized into a folder system, but some folders created by Apple, such as suggestion and Apple Arcade, are also known as intelligent surface apps. When new apps downloaded, they show on the Home screen of the phone, but the app library will clean up your home screen.
2. Compact Phone Calls:
It’s a new space-saving feature that means all incoming calls will not take over the entire space of your phone screen. Due to this, the phone call will show in a small banner on iPhones. Whenever the iPhone locked, the standard phone call can see easily. It also applies to FaceTime calls and VoIP calls. Now, developers have executed support for compact phone call feature.
3. Siri And Search Updates:
Siri redesigned in iOS 14, activated through buttons and by giving voice commands will no longer cause the Siri interface to pop up and take over the whole display of screen with sound wave design. When its activated small animated icon shows at the bottom of the display. Smarter Siri can find the answers to different questions by using the internet but does not disturb other functions. Now, apple increase the number of languages for translating point of view. Siri, in iOS 14, can send audio messages both on the iPhone and share it with contact.
4. Picture In Picture:
By using Picture in picture feature, iPhone mobile users can talk, watch videos, and do video calls through facetime while doing something else. This new feature on the iPad expanded to the iPhone in iOS 14. It’s a chatting platform and plays video in the small icon easily movable at any corner of the screen.
5. App Clips:
Apple prefix App Clips to iOS 14, users can get benefits of some app without fully download. App clip allows you to do these things such as rent a bike, order a coffee and make a hotel reservation by scanning the QR codes, NFC tags, and App Clip codes. Apple defines it as a “small part of an experience” because there is no need to download the full app.
6. Messages:
Many useful features are accessible in the Messages app in iOS 14, which make group chats superior. Some new tools can use to customize the group conversations with pictures along with functionality and quality. Through this Message app, you can see all Messages in a single feed such as Known Senders, Unknown Senders. Meaningful conversations pinned to the top of the Messages app, which keeps them accessible easily. The pinning chat creates a little circle icon at the top of the app with participants’ photos.
There’s also a new @mention feature that lets you direct a message to a specific person in a group chat to getting attention. New Memoji stickers for a hug, fist bump, and blush are also available.
7. Maps:
Maps still look primarily, but they have a beneficial new feature, especially for those who have electric vehicles and bikes. This newer map features not only the United States but also other countries for Canada, Ireland, or the UK to see roads, buildings, parks, beaches, airports, etc. London or congestion zones Paris have some, but it provides alternative routes to avoid them.
Apple’s Maps app is also providing voice guidance for getting cycling directions using Apple Watch.
8. Translate App:
Apple, in iOS 13, added translation capabilities that translate phrases, words into multiple languages, but it was limited. In iOS 14, this function has expanded into a standalone Translate app. This app supports these languages, including Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish. For a translation of different languages, select them at the top of this app; it also supports voice for pronunciation purposes. Also, have a dictionary feature if you want to know about the meaning of any word.
9. HomeKit:
Apple’s HomeKit app has many useful new features for those who invest in Apple’s smart home. Through this automation app, you can control home appliances by using apple devices. Control Center widget for the Home app has improved, only a Tap icon that opens up a full list of favorite accessories that can control without open the Home app. For smart lights, Adaptive Lighting feature is available that is convenient for Night Shift of your lights. Apple is adding activity zones, face recognition to video cameras, and doorbells that work with Home Kit Secure Video.
10. New Safari Feature:
Safari is very fast because Apple says that it delivers two-time faster performance than Chrome. There is a built-in translation feature that can use to translate websites to English, Spanish, Chinese, French, German, Russian, or Brazilian Portuguese. New password monitoring feature that keeps an eye on passwords saved in iCloud Keychain. Whenever Safari finds a breach, it will let you know or generate a new password for your security. Website Privacy Report shows all of the cross-site trackers installed on the website and told which trackers Safari is blocking as part of Apple’s ongoing Intelligent Tracking. These efforts give more privacy on the web.
11. Health App:
Health app has multiple new features related to the Sleep Tracking feature that can also work without an Apple Watch. A new customizable sleep plan includes in it that lets you choose bedtime and wakeup, with Apple sending reminders. When a sleep mode activated, you would not receive any text messages, notifications at night. But it will also activate and turn off base on the sleep plan you set up. You can also choose relaxing actions that prepare you for sleep, such as turning off the lights; it’s all done by the wind-down that enables sleep mode. These sleep features, the Health app, support health records, symptoms, and ECG, plus a Health Checklist that manages health and safety.

- CarKey:
The car key has an NFC base feature that unlocks your car by and also uses to start the vehicle. Your digital key store in the Wallet app and options are available to share a digital key with friends or family members using the Messages app. Car Key continues to work for up to five hours, even if your iPhone runs out of battery. It needs implementation by manufacturers because it requires a car to have NFC. Otherwise, it will not work automatically.
- CarPlay:
In iOS 14, CarPlay supports customizable wallpaper, so you choose a new look for the CarPlay Dashboard, Home Screen. Additionally, CarPlay users will be able to download third-party parking, EV charging, and food ordering apps. Siri in CarPlay can send audio messages and share them with friends and family.

In iOS 14, the AirPods and AirPods Pro are better devices than others. AirPods and AirPods Pro are now able to automatically switch between the iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch as you switch between which device you are using. AirPods paired to your iPhone will provide a notification when the battery is getting low. So, you can charge them because it has optimized battery charging.14

Apple improves privacy protections for its customers with iOS 14 because it creates a new section on each product page for apps on the App Store, which provides an easy-to-read summary of privacy practices before you download an app.
